Carp Camp

Carp Camp, located in the West Campground is unique in the world of music. Each night, there is a jam session. Those participating, especially those toward the center of the jam, are extremely proficient musicians. Many, if not most, have won national competitions on their respective instruments. Usually, there's an unusually large quantity of hammer dulcimers. The sound is something between tribal and orchestral. The leader, Dave Firestine, conducts his orchestra much as a square-dance caller would call a dance. Visitors are welcomed to the jam but are expected to do their homework (see below) before joining in.
