If you are ever in Durango, CO and are looking for a great place to eat, try the Bar D Chuckwagon. After a dinner of Roast Beef or Chicken simmered in Bar-B-Que sauce and all the other fixings, you'll be ready to let the Bar-D Wranglers complete your journey back to the past when they put up their serving pots and aprons and grab their guitars.
Cy Scarborough, who has been at the Bar-D since it began some 32 years ago, plays rhythm guitar, sings lead and keeps you laughing with his special brand of comedy. Bob Minser, in his 25th season, is a former member of the Sons of the Pioneers, sings tenor, yodels and plays the bass. Master of Ceremonies, Jerry Baxter, began his career at the Bar-D 27 years ago cooking beans. Two years later, he began as a performing member of the group, singing lead baritone and will probably be most noticed for his bass voice that can make the tables vibrate. Rounding out the group, is two time National Flat-Pick Champion, Gary Cook, who is in his 12th season. He plays lead guitar, banjo, mandolin and lends his voice to their unique three and four part Western Harmonies.
Sit back, relax and let your troubles go for a while as the Bar-D Wranglers present a touch of the Old West in songs and stories.
