GASS

Years at Winfield:

GASS is a gospel-singing group of four friends who sing and play to share Jesus through music. They met as members of a church worship team and in 2015 had the opportunity to take their talent on the road. Gospel songs comprise most of the repertoire, along with an occasional secular song. Styles include southern gospel, contemporary worship, country and rockabilly.

The group name GASS comes from the first letters of their names: Greg Smyer, vocals and guitar; Andy Colclasure, vocals, bass guitar and drums; Stan Boggs, vocals and guitar; and Susie Knickerbocker, vocals and keyboard. They make their homes in Kansas and Oklahoma.

GASS has been privileged to play venues in Kansas and Oklahoma for worship services in several denominations, picnics, fundraisers, nursing homes, the Cowley County fair, community concerts, cowboy church, special needs horse camp, Valentine’s Day dinner, RV clubs, and Ponca City Gospel Jubilee. They have twice shared billing at a community concert with well-known cowboy-song writer Barry Ward.

Their first CD, the self-titled GASS, was released in 2016. GASS is pleased to announce the release of their second CD, Prairie Praise, in 2018.
