First place went to one who classifies herself as a guitarist, composer, singer/songwriter and touring musician. Christie Lenee hails from Nashville, TN. This was Christie’s first visit to Winfield and the Festival. Her manager, Gina Mendello told her she was going to enter into the competition here in Winfield and Christie said “OK.” She plays numerous other instruments and considers her specialty the 12-string guitar. Incidentally she also entered the New Song Contest here at the Festival and her song “Stay” won the category of “Feeling Blue.” In addition to her music, Christie has hobbies of yoga, poetry, camping traveling and reading. She ended her interview with the following quote, “I believe in music . . . the way I believe in miracles.” In addition to the 1st Place Trophy and a Check, Christie takes back to Nashville a Taylor 814ce Grand Auditorium Guitar by Taylor Guitars Inc. of El Cajon, CA.
