In 2006, the third place trophy, and a Heinrich Gill Concert Violin by Keller Strings of Topeka, KS went to Bill Jones of Nashville/Chapel Hill, TN. Bill is a college student at Tennessee Tech majoring in chemical engineering. This was Bill’s first time to Winfield and the Festival. Bill has been playing the fiddle for 13 years and also plays tenor guitar. His first fiddle was a rented one that his dad rented for him and he too now has one of his own. His favorite things to do aside from playing the fiddle is hunting and fishing.
