Coming to Winfield directly from Italy, Red Wine is one of the oldest bluegrass bands in Europe. Their style is various and contemporary, with a sound and approach that embraces bluegrass, swing, gospel, and country. Martino Coppo, (mandolin & guitar), and Silvio Ferretti, (vocals, banjo, dobro, guitar), have played in the international band Freewheelin' touring Europe and USA. Maria Grazia Branca, (vocals and bass), supports the bands rhythm with her hard-driving bass. Dino Di Giacomo, ( vocals & guitar), has toured Europe and USA with many fine bands.
The band has appeared at some of the major international festivals in Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, and Germany. They have shared the stage with acts such as, New Grass Revival, Hot Rize, The Nashville Bluegrass Band, Tony Trischka & Skyline, and many others.
Since 1995, Red Wine has toured the US, appearing at Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival and the Mohican Bluegrass Festival, and topping it at the IBMA "World of Bluegrass" playing a well-received showcase and performing at Fan Fest.
