Brett Martin of Auburn, AL placed in the top five in the banjo contest in 2006. In 2007 he placed third and won the 3rd place trophy and a Deering Black Diamond Banjo by the Deering Banjo Company of Spring Valley, CA. He has been playing the banjo for the past 35 years and he too got his first banjo from his dad. Brett plays in a band entitled “Blue 32” a bluegrass band out of Auburn, AL. Martin also does some teaching of the instrument. When not working or playing the banjo he enjoys deer hunting and drawing. He’ll be back because as he says, “I consider the Walnut Valley Festival very educational.”
Brett was a member of the Just-Us Bluegrass Band in Columbus, Georgia.
