Walnut Valley Mandolin Championship (1976-2009) | Third | 1995 |
Third place in the inaugural National Mandolin Championship at the Walnut Valley Festival was earned by Bruce Graybill of Pleasant Hill, MO. Bruce is a Senior Field Service Engineer and a former winner of this competition when it was still the Walnut Valley Mandolin Championship taking first place in 1998 and again in 2004 and a third place way back in 1995. When asked what prompted him to come to Winfield and the Festival he responded with “Where else would I be?” You see, he has been coming to this Festival for 28 years and this is the 16th time he has entered the mandolin competition. One of his favorite things to do when not playing music is sailing, and by the way, don’t mess with Bruce as he is a Certified Firearms Instructor. Bruce won a Weber Yellowstone “F” Style Mandolin by Weber Fine Acoustic Instruments/Sound to Earth of Manhattan MT.
