2015 - A Musician and Music teacher from St. Louis, MO placed first in this competition. David Goldenberg says he has entered this competition 4 or 5 times and last year he placed 3rd. In 2011 he was the Rockygrass mandolin winner. David has been playing the mandolin for 13 years and when asked if he played any other instruments he quickly responded, “Nope!” David recorded a duet CD with Christian Sedelmyer titled “The Show About Nothing.” Dave enjoys sports - hockey, baseball, and tennis then quickly adds coffee with an exclamation point.
As the 1st place winner, David takes home $275, the 1st Place Trophy and an Ellis F5 Special Mandolin by Ellis Mandolins of Austin, TX.
