2017 - First place was awarded to a Nashville, TN performer and teacher of the banjo. Kyle Tuttle is no stranger to this contest, he made the top five in 2011; in 2012 he was second and in 2013 he placed third. In 2015 he place second and made the top 5 in 2016. He has been playing the banjo since he was 17 years old and also plays the guitar and mandolin, but he says he only plays these for fun. His first CD was released and is entitled “Bobcat.” He is also a member of the “Jeff Austin Band.” Kyle’s hobby is his banjo and it sure shows and in addition he does like to go fishing. Going back to Tennessee with him are the 1st Place Trophy and an OME “Odyssey” Bluegrass Banjo by OME Banjos of Boulder, CO.
