2012 was Shuhei Nishino's first visit to Winfield and the Festival. Shuhei is a 30 year old guitarist, who also plays the piano. He said it was his dream to play on the stage of the International Finger Style Guitar Championship. And that he did! He loves to watch the main stage bands, and the workshops put on by what he calls, “famous musicians.” When not playing the guitar he loves to attend movies and read books. One thing he especially loves to do is to visit foreign countries. I’m sure he plans to return again to Winfield and the competition. The prize Shuhei selected was a Triggs Flattop Acoustic Guitar by Jim & Ryan Triggs of Lawrence KS. He also takes back to Japan the 2nd Place Trophy.
