The Krüger Brothers have been coming to the United States from their homeland of Switzerland to perform at the popular East Coast festival, MerleFest, for several years. The Brothers have developed a rapport with a number of the MerleFest regulars, so when the time came to make this record they had a long list of talented performers ready to sit in with them. Being recorded in North Carolina at a friend's makeshift garage recording studio has given an informal feel to the whole project. No doubt the fun loving group assigns an enthusiasm of the music that is quickly felt by the listener. Instrumental guests, Tut Taylor, Michael Cleveland, and Wayne Henderson add an authentic sonic dimension of rural Appalachia to the recording. Of course, the story telling and vocals by Moondi Klein give the listener a soothing sound so you can almost smell the hickory smoke and see the vivid pictures painted by the songs. The 3 CD set is a vivid collection of songs, stories, and a slice of life from this Swiss group of exciting players.
